stella im hultberg does string

i've been a long time fan of the melancholy femmes by brooklyn artist stella im hultberg. however, i find that these smoky and bony women are most successful when their is a hint of a narrative element to the work, such as the inclusion of colored string in her newest body of work 'penumbra' at corpo nason gallery. i find the image of these tangled women to be strange and striking. take a peek for yourself here.

Thank you for this. The eyes in these women are all so very haunting to me.
