holy hell i'm obsessed with allyson mellberg's work.

 her new series, 'the lotus eaters' opened recently in paris, the city of all of my crystalline dreams. her work makes me feel comforted & yet strange, as if her figures inner most selves are being breached by an obtrusive, otherworldly life. while i'm not sure if these are welcome intrusions or necessarily good ones, i see so many parallels in my own life, the feeling of being overwhelmed by natural cosmic forces of which i can't control. i wrote a few more formal words over here at hi-fructose.
