i've . . .

Photobucket
Photobucket

i've been restless. dreaming of apocalypses & speaking with the dead. meeting the light & the dark every day, in secret, in the street.

i've been collecting phantom quartz stones for new jewels & i've been obsessed with waxing the boa constrictor rib bones into everything.

i've been reading books on carl jung & alchemy, seeking the signs & symbols of a lost magical language.

i've been staying in bed too long & then not long enough. i'm excited april is here. it carries the hum of metamorphosis.

this snake skin dress is a spell, a ritual. a shedding and then a re-stitching. incredible.

Wow, the first photo makes the dress looks like it's just sewn out of bits of dyed and estranged lace. I'd love to see it done in lace so it would be more practical to wear.

I'm excited to see what hatches from your cocoon.

Hello. I've been following your blog for a bit of time... since Swamplandia. And, in exchange for all of the wonderful visual and textual things in your posts, I would like to suggest a book: Modern Alchemy: Occultism and the Emergence of Atomic Theory. It's pretty academic, but the author is a very thorough scholar and it the topic seems quite tapped into your veins... Perhaps you'll think it's interesting.

Louise Richardson is amazing. I'll bet she's a spiritualist. Those are certainly spirit feathers on her flickr page. Awesome, again.
