i'm obsessed with the notion and mystery of the afterlife. this obsession is tied and knotted into nearly everything i make as i'm constantly questing to see or hear or feel a manifestation of the supernatural.
these photographs were created by piecing together images of a man who's body, after being donated to science, had been encased in gelatin and then thinly sliced to reveal his anatomy at magnified level. that this man was a convicted murderer who was executed, adds to the tension of how his body was used by science and the subsequent re piecing of his "body" to ghostly effect. take a peek at more of the photos by croix gagnon & frank schott and read the full story here.
