lola's new paintings have a narcotic quality for me. they remind me of the strange space of childhood and yet their increasing sophistication in both color, pattern and setting, resonates with my current emotional landscapes. i'd like to pack a suitcase, slip into one of them, & share the couch & a tale with one of her imaginative creatures . . .
