the snake that eats it's tail.

Photobucket

a while back i mentioned researching carl jung and the idea of becoming whole, rather than fragmented. a complete psyche, meshed with it's true nature. these ideas were conjured in lieu of my review of artist korin faught's work, which you can read in hi-fructose volume 18 if you're so inclined. korin often paints doubles  & pairs her femmes with occult symbols. the above, 'infinity' is my absolute favorite.

conjoined.

Photobucket

if you're a long time reader of my musings, then you know how utterly & irrationally obsessed with conjoined twins i am. it's a strange, natural affliction that takes on so many nuances and emotional metaphors when used as a literary or artistic device, as i've done in my doppleganger series. the above image is an illustration by stunning artist sam weber of a short story, 'bone hinge' by katie williams. i love it when two pieces come together so seamlessly.
