i've been long loving the bizarre art of kristen ferrell. her highly detailed paintings are filled with creatures who devour each other & themselves, as well as portraits of females covered in blood. despite the dark themes of the work, they are wielded with a playful feminine hand, which shows in the delicate scrollwork and colorful palate. she's also in 'max & the siamese twins' book with me!
