lori nix does apocalyptic miniatures.

lori nix photographs these incredibly detailed apocalyptic scenes in her 'the city' series. i am at once creeped out by the abandoned landscapes and amazed that these are actually miniature installations created before photographed. this satisfies both my obsessions with the apocalypse and miniatures.
thanks paul!

those are incredible!
It reminds me a bit of the work of Sherri Hay. When i met her she was doing these amazing miniature apocalyptic scenes in snow globes. It was a great interactive piece, to shake up and hold this little ball full of destruction in the palm of your hand. Yet at the same time they looked so gentle and beautiful.

Holly f*** those are completely AWESOME! the detail is insane and the spooky reality that you see is incredible with vivid images of you standing in one of those rooms hoping that what's outside didn't follow you inside. I would love to see them in person!
