despite the heat, everything here is blooming, pushing through, opening up.

there is something painfully delicate about these glass works by artist mika aoki. throned webbed roses, jars filled with skeletal glass and syringes bursting with translucent growths of flora populate her oeuvre, works that are at once fragile and distinctly potent.
