i recently feel upon these interesting works made of ink / embroidery / (found portraits?) by dutch artist hinke schreuders. ( this one here is one of my favorites but was too small to post here. ) for me, there is something immediately arresting about the body or face being obscured or exaggerated in some way & here the results of these violations are quite beautiful & yet still imbued with that strange 'otherness' i so need in the art that snags me-  the bride cross sectioned by dashes of thread. a dress webbed in stuttering lines. a kind of capture.
