first friday

this first friday here in philly at 309 gallery in olde city located at 309 cherry street, photographer christina brown will be showing large scale images from the lookbook, 'the conjurer' along side curated cabinets of my jewels along side personal objects from my collection and objects from paul romano's & jeremy hush's home & studios. this will be the first time i've ever shown my personal collection of my jewelry in a gallery setting, meaning that some of the jewels will show the wear i've placed on them over time while others illuminate the ethereal elegance of the rose gold plating. if you live near philly i would love to see you at the opening this friday from 6-9. the show is open until january 15th of the new year.

there's been a leak of some lookbook images over at haute macabre. the images have all been edited beautifully, now its been passed on to be laid out. . . . hopefully it will debut this month, but for now, take a peek here for a preview.

i've made a planchette wax in half the size! look out for it in new designs upcoming / including a cuff and earrings as well as olde designs : a ring & necklace. . . for those who like to make a more subtle statement.

the conjurer.

i spent most of today pre-huurricane with christina brown, watching her work and viewing choices of edited photos for the upcoming lookbook. its shaping up to be exactly what i had conjured in my mind & beyond. for now, here's a little bleed....featuring 'the temple' ring, a gloriously large pyramid of snowflake obsidian held in with four perfect sterling sparrow claws....that will be available online in black stone variations and exclusively in different stones at loved to death in sf.

 so much more coming within the weeks upcoming. . .

an olde wedding dress.

christina brown just sent me these over as i'm chained to the desk working, comforted only by the stacks of new books that came in the mail today and a small, sweating glass jelly jar filled with hard lemonade. 

believe it or not, i brought only a few beloved props with me, paul's & jeremy's home came fully stocked with bones, yellowed books and other oddities. i did however bring along those massive tomes, each stuffed full (!!!) with the musings of book empress margaux kent , who nicely lent them to me for the shoot. i can't wait to show you more.. . .

opaque like a trauma:

maybe you don't follow my twitter or instagram, so i thought i'd post some of the ig iphone shots i'd taken during the lookbook shoot. there is still much work to be done, so for now, this is a little wound. writing and generally de-cluttering of the mess i've made preparing all these new pieces is on the horizon, but i will be releasing a few of the lily dale pieces next week for the year anniversary of my trip there. i'll also be doing small profiles on everyone who was involved with the shoot over the next few weeks; i find sometimes it is easy to get lost in the small cosmos of an editorial, forgetting the many hands, hearts and creative minds behind the huge amount of work and energy that goes into these shorts of things ( i know i do , did.... )

lookbook week.

the lookbook shoot is only in a few short days.  . . so i've had my head to the bench, bleeding all over. above is another quick sneak peek of new jewels, the lily dale pentacle in black blood and a new piece, 'the  seer' also in black blood. both come with a soft, luxurious black suede "chain." i love mixing natural elements with metal. so much more to come. . . . 

also, today is the last day to enter to win the above conjoined sparrow claw ring in rose gold plate. this ring is truly stunning on & has lately become one of my most popular pieces. i'll end comments at midnight east coast time and announce the lucky winner tomorrow via a random drawing. to enter, leave a comment on this older post HERE.

incredible photographer jackie puwalski had asked me a month or so ago if she could borrow some blood jewels for a shoot. the mail was messed up a bit & the pieces didn't arrive in time so instead, jackie shot some of the work on herself. i especially love the hands, so creepy and primal! look out for the rest of the shots forthcoming on my etsy!

the endless love letter.... .. . .. . ...

absentia is the one word i couldn't live without. which coincidentally is also part of the title of a brother's quay film, 'in-absentia' which was the inspiration for photographer christina brown's approach of shooting my work on the lovely lindsay for phase 1 of my look book. the film was based on the strange obsession of a woman in an asylum to write love letters to a man who never visits. here's both a clip of the film & a peek at some of the photos:

the renegade craft fair in brooklyn is now less than 2 weeks away. so there is new bloodmilk in the witche's brew, including new two- finger rings and some old favorites cast immortal in sterling silver. i'm also working towards a bloodmilk look-book that will hopefully land me some wholesale clients and i've been searching around for inspiration for it. which led me to the above self-portraits by canadian artist kristamas klousch. these shots look perfectly bloodmilk. they are somber and thrilling, beautiful and grotesque, and of course i can't resist a pouty mouthed masked lady, complete with raven hair. if only this lass lived in the u.s......
