printed on black, white or grey french paper, the print measures 19 x 25. including a beautifully nuanced shimmer effect via fine mica powder, the prints appear luminous and intriguing in their well balanced design of hand drawn elements via Paul Romano, an image captured from the lookbook via Christina Brown and text directly lifted from the lookbook.

these are limited 30 in black and 10 each in white and grey and are ready to ship.

Hand signed and numbered.

Comes carefully rolled in a mailing tube, ready to be framed or carefully pinned to your wall.

the rare unearthly space between.

Photobucket

there is a place, a liminal space, that lives between worlds. it is veiled in ash & shadow. it exists in temperaments and trances, in fits of fever or prolonged moments of grief. i know this place well, i curl and uncurl within its shade. i feel my work is created from this locus, this strange pulse, this limitlessness, rooted in all things hidden, unspoken. & this is also how i feel about paul romano's new exhibition, 'nocturne' which opens tomorrow night at part time studios here in philly. a meditation on the murkiness between worlds.

paul romano: the book of them.

new work by paul romano. what lady doesn't love her own tome?
xo.
"The books are made up of my photographs I took over a number of years. Everything is printed cyanotype that I then toned. Each book is 32 pages plus the cover and meant to be a set. The books take their inspiration and titles from the show “He Said, She Said”. The story of the books is simple; He says snow and She says sky."

paul romano does the toothless cat.

while i'm on the subject of my gallery, i'm pleased to announce the forthcoming solo exhibition of artist paul romano this october 10 here in philly at the toothless cat. paul has worked in the music industry for over 10 years, creating the album artwork for popular bands such as mastodon. although i'm not familiar with any of this music, i had the great fortune of being introduced to paul's work via a visit to his studio, & was blown away. the exhibition promises to show a lot of the original work used for the album covers, but in this new context of the gallery, they gain a new meaning, transcending their original intent. the work itself is executed with classical precision from a master, at times steeped in myth & with a dark aesthetic. i'll be visiting paul's studio again after the opening for fecal face & i look forward to seeing some of you at the opening!
