although i've recently posted about brandi milne's long legged lovelies here, i'm really digging this new painting with the inclusion of not only twins & a mini circus tent, but blood. she's also having a give away on her blog for an artist proof print right now.....

brandi milne has a new show up at thinkspace gallery. her color palette is more earthy toned than usual and the animal/food/ghostly characters have a lovely nostalgic/creepy feel to them. the work as a whole reminds me of vintage advertising with camille rose garcia influence. some of the paintings were created on antique book covers, further illuminating the vintage feel of the show.  as always, i'm a big fan on conjoined twins and love the text in this piece. check out the rest of the show here.

when i was in grad school, one of my teachers said that as writers we are also image collectors. it was an epiphany for me and described my life since i was a child. gearing up for a show means a massive influx of images. careful attention is paid to my dream/nightmare images as well as from books and the massive sea of the internet. i recently discovered tumblr.com and am in love.
