digging in a little deeper to why i create the work i create:
the harpy eagle is the most magnificent beast of all the birds of prey, literally the size of a toddler. it should be mythical be all means, as it certainly derives it's name from mythology. the harpies, or sirens of lore, were beautiful but deadly hybrids, part bird and part luscious woman, a winged sphinx gifted with the song of death. casting the talon of the bird has given way to an immortalization of this bird in brass and sterling. it is nearly 3 times the size of a bald eagle claw & is a solid piece. i've been wearing one all these weeks since it first came to fruition. soon, after the maddness of renegade has quelled, it will live in a few other incantations too, re-imagined into other wearable forms.
back to work.......
